Deprecation of TLS 1.0/1.1

What is TLS?

Transport Layer Security (TLS) is a protocol that ensures privacy between communicating applications and their users on the internet.
When a server and client communicate, TLS ensures that no third party may eavesdrop or tamper with any message.
TLS is the successor to the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL).

What is changing?

On December 19th, 2017 the ability to utilize TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 encryption protocols as part of connecting to the ProntoForms service will be discontinued. As part of our commitment to security standards and to protect our clients’ security we continually look and act to ensure the integrity of our service. TLS versions other than 1.2 have been proven to be less secure as such pose a risk and are therefore not acceptable for the handling of sensitive traffic. ProntoForms will only be supporting TLS v1.2, any earlier versions will not be accepted.
