The file upload question type allows mobile users to attach files currently saved on their mobile device to forms. Use this control to upload reference documents such as contract PDFs, proprietary file types, or other files.
These files will be sent in your form submission to any data destination set up for the form.
To ensure the security of customer data, files attached via File Upload questions are displayed as links in associated documents. Viewing these links requires logging into ProntoForms using appropriate credentials.
If you wish for the people receiving the form submissions to be able to view the attached files, be sure to select the "Send photos, sketches, audio files, and similar form data as separate file attachments to the message" option in the data destination associated with the form.
In the Form Builder, the File Upload question appears as shown below:
The Question Edit screen for the File Upload question has three tabs: General, Properties, and Help Options. This article will go through each of the tabs.
The Unique ID is the reference for the question. For more information on Unique IDs, read: Overview: Unique IDs. It can either be auto-generated based on the question text, or customized.
Restrictions control how your mobile users interact with a question. They can be set on the question itself, or controlled by Conditional Logic.

Note: Users cannot view the uploaded files within the ProntoForms app.
Properties allow you to set up your question in various ways. Properties are based on the Data Type chosen. File Upload supports one Data Type:
Adding "Help" content to forms gives mobile users access to support and other resources out in the field. Help content is available to users through a button embedded beside a question. Any question in the form can include a link to Youtube videos, web pages, or HTML-formatted work instructions.
