This topic describes the status information presented in the Form Submissions page, including the icons that indicate each status. The status helps you to identify any dispatched or submitted forms that you might need to take action on.

What is a Form Submission status?
The status of a Form Submission indicates a form's progress through a workflow. The status of a form submission changes when
- mobile device users send a completed or edited form, or transfer an incomplete ProntoForms Teamwork-enabled form
- supervisors dispatch a form, send a form for editing, or reassign an incomplete ProntoForms Teamwork-enabled form, and
- the system returns an error, processes a form submission, or is dispatching a form.
Note:The ProntoForms Teamwork feature is available on the Enterprise tier.

Form Submission status descriptions
The Form Submissions page displays the status of each dispatched or submitted form. Each status is represented by an icon as shown in the following table.
Icon | Status | Description |

![]() | In Progress (Dispatching) | The system is dispatching the form. This icon is displayed until the mobile user reconciles their device. |
![]() | In Progress (Dispatched) | The mobile user received the dispatched form in their Inbox. |
![]() | Dispatch Declined | The mobile user declined a form dispatched to them. |
![]() | In Progress (Processing) | The system received a submitted form and is processing it. |
![]() | In Progress (Processing Failed) | The system can't process the submitted form due to an error. Select the Reference Number for more information about the error. |
![]() | In Progress (Uploading) | The system is uploading a newly submitted form. The Form Submission remains in this status if a mobile user's device disconnects while it's uploading. |
![]() | Upload Failed | The system can’t upload the submitted form because the ProntoForms servers are down. |
![]() | Complete | A mobile user sent a complete form. |
![]() | Complete (Sent for Editing) | A supervisor sent a complete form to a user for editing. |

Incomplete (Unassigned) | A mobile user transferred an incomplete ProntoForms Teamwork-enabled form. | |
Incomplete (Reassigned) | A supervisor reassigned, or a user claimed an incomplete ProntoForms Teamwork-enabled form that a user transferred. |

Interpret the form submission status icons
The icons have some common characteristics that can give you an idea of what they represent. Use the following guidelines to interpret the icons.
- An arrow pointing to the right indicates a dispatch.
- An arrow pointing up indicates a data upload.
- A check mark indicates a completed form.
- A pencil indicates an edited form.
- A cross indicates an error.
A list of form submissions generally has most submissions in a Complete status. A form that is not complete usually features an icon that stands out. This can help you to make decisions about which Form Submissions require you to move them on in the workflow.
How the system assigns a form submission status
The status of a Form Submission is a combination of the Form Submission States and a Data State or a Workflow Action.
- Form Submission States
- Form submission states indicate a form’s position in a company’s general workflow.
- Form Submissions can be in any of the following States:
In Progress—A supervisor dispatched a form to a user. The form is currently on the user’s mobile device.
Declined—The user declined the dispatched form.
Complete—The user submitted the completed form.
Incomplete—The user transferred an incomplete ProntoForms Teamwork-enabled form (Enterprise tier only).

- Data States indicate how the information from a dispatched or submitted form moves between the server, and the ProntoForms mobile app:
- Uploading
- Upload failed
- Processing
- Processing failed
- Dispatching
- Dispatched
- Workflow Actions
- Workflow Actions indicate the actions users take on the form:
- Dispatch declined
- Complete (Sent for editing)
- Complete (Edited)
- Incomplete (Unassigned)
- Incomplete (Reassigned)
