Delivery Failure Notifications

We have a form in which our techs sometimes need to enter a customers' email address. Not being the most technologically proficient users they sometimes mis-type the customers' email address. These completed forms also get sent to internal support people and of course a copy to the tech themselves.

Is there any way to notify the tech if perhaps they entered an incorrect email address which would result in a undeliverable email notification being generated by the receiving mail server? Basically just looking for a way to confirm the email they think they send did indeed go out.

This is typically a misspelling of the customers email address

    Hello Remy there currently isn't a way to validate or otherwise verify that the e-mail address entered by the technician on an e-mail form control. If the customer is one that is known to you already it is possible to have the e-mail address of the customer automatically entered into the form based on the customer selected. This would be done through the use of a lookup file (data source), You can then have a separate question to enter e-mail address if the customer e-mail address is unknown. I do think you are onto something here however and believe this functionality may be of great value as such will pose the question to our development team.

    Thanks Sinan;

    We do currently auto populate know email addresses but occasionally run into situations where we have a new contact at a customer location or a new customer. I guess I will just tell the service techs they need to pay attention to their entries.

    Perhaps it could be a future feature request to have your servers programmed to forward non delivery reports to the email address that generated the original mail. Just a thought.

    Thanks again and have a great weekend

    Has there been any discussions or plans to incorporate some sort of failure notification yet? The issue I originally posted in 2011 still occassionally comes up. We do auto-populate whenever we can but there are still times when a service tech mis-spells someone's email address. If would still pass any sort of email validation rules but would never be able to be delivered. It would be great to be able to have a place to enter a 'failure notifications' email address and then any mail delivery failures by the pronto mail servers could forward the delivery failure notification to that address.

    Just a thought

    Yes! This would be great. Our forms send to emails we have previously selected, however, if we've misentered an address, we have no way of knowing if our customer did not receive the email
