Narrowing the Options on the basis of the answers provided

    Hello Samjhana,

    This is possible if you structure the data source containing these items correctly.    See the screenshot below...

    Set up a dropdown question to allow you to select the category, then a second dropdown to select the subcategory -- with the data source using "question-based filtering" to filter based on the "category" question.  Once you select "computer" in the first dropdown, the second one will be limited to rows containing the "computer" category (so Laptop and Desktop should be the only responses).

     

    I see in your screenshots though that you are using the web client -- please note that the web client is older and does not support some newer features, and may behave differently than the mobile apps/Windows 8.1 app.

    Is this how the configuration should look like? Please view the screen shots below.

     

    And what about the Question "Category"? Should I also connect it with the same data source? Right now i have connected the data source only with the Question "Sub Category" and in the Question "Category" I have used "Define Here" to add the options.

    I tried doing as instructed by you. My data source looks like following

     

    But I see the following kind of message even in the mobile device (android).

     

    Please help.

    Hello Samjhana,

    Your screenshots cut off right above a key configuration field -- "Filtered column" -- this is the column of the data source that the filter will look for "computer" in.   Is it set to 'category"?

    Usually the "category" question would also be attached to the same data source -- but I suspect it should work without.

    If you're still having trouble, I recommend logging a support ticket identifying your team information, so our team will be able to look at your full form configuration.

    Just changed the Filtered Coulmn set to "Category". and it worked.
