Reference User Phone Number

I would like to request adding the ability to reference the User Phone Number listed in their account. This would be helpful for text features as you can reference the number for the person receiving the text to call or text back to.

    Hi Josh,

Depending on your requirements, I think you would be able to reference this using a "ProntoForms User Data Source" and populating their phone number based on their username.

    Does that help you?

That worked. For some reason when I emailed support I was told I could only reference displayname, id, username, name, email, alias.

It would be great if it could answer the question instead of having to select their phone number as a radio button or a drop-down menu.

    Hi Josh,

I bet the support analyst you were speaking to was thinking about solving this with DREL instead-- those are indeed the only things about a user you can reference with DREL.

Can you clarify what you mean by "It would be great if it could answer the question instead of having to select their phone number as a radio button or a drop-down menu" ?

Do you mean just automatically answering it?

You may be able to accomplish that with some minor trickery.  My suggestion is:
    - Creating a text field with the "user's username as default value" (that's a setting available) -- this should fill in the user's username when they open the form
    - Using a conditional logic rule like "if that username text field is answered, set the value of the next dropdown to that username"
    - That dropdown references your user data source, and populates the phone number into a subsequent field

I know that sounds a little ugly, but you can probably hide the first two fields so they aren't visible.

I followed your guidelines above and was able to make it work. It does take several steps and a few conditional logic but does work thank you.
